What is define chest thrust?

The chest thrust is a first aid technique used to clear an airway obstruction in a conscious choking victim. It is an alternative to the Heimlich maneuver and is recommended for use in infants and pregnant women who could be injured by abdominal thrusts. To perform a chest thrust, stand behind the victim with your arms around their chest and make a fist with one hand. Place your fist slightly above the victim's sternum and below their nipples. Grasp your fist with the other hand and give a quick inward and upward thrust, similar to giving a strong hug. Repeat if necessary until the obstruction is cleared or emergency responders arrive. It is important to note that chest thrusts should not be used in unconscious victims, as they require CPR and other resuscitative measures.
